Thanks for bringing in the android angle. You are very correct about the ecosystem issue. In fact, I expressed that in another article comparing the iOS to android based on UX.

But a keyword many people who comment often miss is the word “keep” in the title. Many just go all out talking about how the Apple system is better than the Google system. But even in the Apple system, the iPhone outsells all other Apple products by a very significant margin.

Currently, one of Apple’s business strategy is to try to bring some of their other products on the same par with the iPhone. This is because the iPhone is responsible for most part of their revenue. Think about that. Think about why people (not you) KEEP buying the iPhone (especially when they already own one).
