I Need Help — The Bank Just Permanently Shut Down My Business
No time to be fancy. I just got an email from my US bank saying that my business account will be permanently closed in a few days.
From the look of things, there is no way I can save the situation. The order seems to be from above. All the other (alternative) financial institutions have the same instructions. My crime was that I reside in a (third-world) country that is not supported.
I am exploring all options right now and it seems that the most favorable one for me is a work visa to a first-world country.
I still can’t believe I have to look for a job lol. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough money yet to be able to buy access to any country I want. I’ll get there, but right now I need a way out of this jam fast.
I have 6+ years of experience in marketing, 4+ years in business strategy, and I believe I am the best business strategist in the world. I can take on any business in any market, even if the marketing budget is a little lower than the industry average.
And as you can already tell, I am a damn good copywriter too.
What about your clients?
Good question. All of them are individuals, small businesses, and startups. I have explored doing that with some before and it won’t work. The whole system is designed so that businesses like that can’t make such moves.
What about your investments?
All tied up. I can’t use any of them. Those that are useful are not significant enough. Those that are significant enough are not useful.
Why can’t you relocate as an entrepreneur?
Unfortunately, I have not made enough money in the business to do that. My business is mostly a one-person business (and I like that). I sometimes have help from a small team, but they are all independent contractors. The entrepreneurial process is designed for businesses that have raised capital, etc.
Yes, this is kind of urgent, but I am not desperate
Would you still be selective in picking a workplace? Of course! These kinds of situations are designed to make people lose dignity and settle for a lot less. But I am not like that lol.
I have other options that do not include getting a work visa in a first-world country. But this is apparently my best option right now. So, I am exploring it.
Yes, I’d love to keep working with existing clients but I can clear up my schedule
I play the role of an advisor with my current clients. The timing thing is really flexible. And it is one of the things I coach clients on — if you need 8 hours 5 times a week to have a successful business, you are doing something wrong.
