Hi Nora, I appreciate you saying what you feel about this. But the whole essence of this is to look from the other person’s perspective. There are lots of articles that stare at people’s faces here every day. People want to take as much as they can as quickly as they can. So they unconsciously get only interested in what they bond with. And of course, many scan through which is why Medium has ‘views' and ‘reads’. Honestly, I found myself doing a lot of scanning recently (gotten busier). So you have to give readers what is really worth their time.

About understanding, maybe they don’t have the mental strength for all that when they visit Medium. The key to commercial writing is to understand the readers. Your writing doesn’t have to be commercial though
